Throughout June, FOODPrint partners across Europe organized The Great European Bake-Off Day, a series of local community events that combined sustainability, creativity, and food in an engaging and interactive way.

The initiative encouraged participants to think about the environmental impact of their everyday food choices while celebrating local ingredients and sustainable cooking. Community members prepared their own homemade sustainable toppings, enjoyed locally made pancakes, and exchanged ideas on how simple changes—such as choosing seasonal, local, and plant-based ingredients—can contribute to a healthier planet.

Beyond the fun and friendly competition, the events created space for learning and discussion about conscious consumption, food waste, and sustainable food systems. Participants of all ages discovered that sustainability does not have to be complicated—it can start with the meals we prepare and share with others.

The Great European Bake-Off Day demonstrated how local initiatives can inspire positive environmental action while strengthening community connections. By bringing people together around food, FOODPrint continues to empower young people and local communities to become active contributors to a more sustainable future.

We would like to thank everyone who participated, volunteered, and supported the events across Europe. Together, we are proving that small actions can make a big difference.
